56th edition of Annual Filmfare awards for South will be held on 31st July 2009 in Hyderabad for the South Indian films released in the year 2008.
Filmfare awards are considered as one of the prestigious cinema awards as a recognition for cinema in the country.
The Southern version of the awards are given for films released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada in many categories annually, held in any one of the Southern Cities.The categories include Best Film, Best Director, Best Male Actor
, Best Female Actor, Best Music Director and Best Playback Singer.
This year the award committee has selected Hyderabad as the venue for the ceremony. This year Idea Cellular Mobile
is going to sponsor the event along with Filmfare magazine.
